Small Presses taking Literary Work 
Publishers in the English-speaking world probably exceed a hundred thousand, many of them local and specialist. Among that number are many publishing literary criticism, poetry and experimental fiction, probably at least five thousand, not including ezines and ephemeral presses that spring up and disappear like the proverbial mushrooms. To our knowledge there is no complete listing, but readers of our Practical Publishing Handbook will learn how to locate publishers of interest.
As a stop-gap measure, we offer these simple listings excerpted from the Handbook.
